I had the distinct pleasure of seeing a gorgeous recently-restored Lamborghini Miura last month at the EURO Auto Festival, held on the grounds of BMW's North American Headquarters here in the upstate of South Carolina.

Arguably the first supercar, it's fabulously designed. Timeless, perfectly proportioned, and so sleek. It's a surprisingly low car. Notice the Mini behind it in this shot:

I have no frame of reference for how it must sound driving with that V-12 mere inches behind your head. Seeing it close-up was great. The current owner conducted the restoration himself, doing everything but the interior and paint (if my memory serves me correctly). As I said, it's a gorgeous car; a pristine example.

Enjoy the rest of the images.

BMW HQ is actually in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. That's the factory and performance center down in Spartaburg, which I don't blame you for mistaking as the HQ...the factory is massive.

Huh, looks like you're right. Their headquarters looks like a little office park. The factory down here is seriously huge.

Yep. I do work for them so I'm at the HQ in NJ pretty often. Tomorrow I'm shooting a certain new vehicle with 567-hp :)

I create and edit social content for the BMW usa Fb/twitter/g+/tumblr/Instagram. I'm not always taking photos but it's a big part of my job.

Ok, cool. Do you ever get to do any driving at the Performance Center? I've only been out there to watch the One Lap of America folks do their hot laps.

By the way, would that be an M5? M6?
I still have a soft spot for the M5 since seeing The Hire come out when I was in college.

I was down there in August shooting for their new FB page . Didn't do any driving but I got to ride in some stuff. Having done a bunch of Skip Barber driving/racing school, I can safely say BMW's curriculum is on par with the best.

Hmm, all the X's have much less horsepower . . . so a new souped-up i8? Seems too early for that though.
